SIM2000/VSAM/DMF - EURO Conversion Tool for VSAM,QSAM,DL/1
SIM2000/VSAM/DMF is a product which allows users to modify any field in a VSAM or DL/1 record while the dataset is being processed. SIM2000/VSAM/DMF allows the modifications to be made in batch and online (CICS) modes.
SIM2000/VSAM/DMF allows the user to add to, subtract from, multiply or divide user fields by specific or variable values, based upon certain criteria being met if you desire. You can also modify a user field to a specific value or predefined variable. Each field can have it's own conditional statement which must be met before the modification is made.
SIM2000/VSAM/DMF allows you to define Variable and Condition control information that can be used for any dataset processing. The Variable control information allows you to assign a name to a specific value. This name can be used for computing a new field value or comparing for Condition processing. The Condition control information allows you to establish the criteria for further processing. You can determine which records are to be processed as well as which computations are to be performed based upon conditions being met.
SIM2000/VSAM/DMF is completely transparent to the application program. The user establishes control information which tells SIM2000/VSAM/DMF which datasets to handle and the characteristics of the record data fields to be modified. The control information is maintained in a VSAM dataset that is read and loaded into virtual storage during the SIM2000/VSAM/DMF system activation, which is part of the SIM2000/VSAM system activation.
SIM2000/VSAM/DMF provides an interface between the application program and VSAM. This interface is established when the applicable datasets are opened. Once the interface is established, SIM2000/VSAM/DMF interrogates and processes every record that is handled by the application program. The interface is reset when the dataset is closed.
SIM2000/VSAM/DMF supports all types of VSAM/QSAM datasets and DL/1 databases. Multiple record types are supported as well as all VSAM processing modes.
SIM2000/VSAM supports OS/390, MVS, VSE, batch, CICS, and IMS/DL1 applications.
